Lateral Sled Pulls Great for Improved Lateral Quickness

Need a new exercise to help improve lateral speed/explosiveness? Here’s a great way to use the sled as a means to developing an athlete’s ability to move faster laterally.

To put things in perspective, the athlete shown here is a quarterback, and because his role requires lateral quickness to avoid oncoming defenders, the prescribed exercise is perfect for improving that ability. Keep in mind that this can be used for a wide array of other athletes as well, so test it out!

Side Note: For these, you want to dig hard into the ground with each step, maximize triple extension (hip, knee, ankle), and drive your knees nice and high in between your steps. Have fun with it!
